The Army Command on Saturday issued a statement saying the military institution would not tolerate any attempts at undermining the stability, even it meant using force to preserve the lives and property of citizens and prevent armed clashes.
Following the statements made by the Lebanese president and defense minister on the security setback [hyperlink to ]in the Bab al-Tabbaneh and Jabal Mohsen neighborhoods of Tripoli, which left nine dead, including one child, and at least 50 others wounded, the army has expanded its deployment and set up temporary centers in adjacent neighborhoods to put a stop to breaches of security.
“Our forces are conducting patrols and have established checkpoints to check the identities of all persons, so as to prevent any theft or infringement on private and public property,” the statement added.
