After meeting with Syrian President Bashar Assad on Tuesday, Minister of Youth and Sports Talal Arslan said that Syria supported the implementation of the agreements reached at Doha last May.

Arslan said that Assad was confident of the Lebanese people’s ability to overcome outside attempts to destabilize their country.

Arslan also said that Assad and President Michel Sleiman were comfortable and confident in each other.

He said that he hoped that relations between Walid Jumblatt, the leader of the Democratic Gathering bloc, and Syria would improve, and said he was ready to act as mediator between the two.
