Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmad Abu al-Gheit said that Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was welcome to visit Egypt “if he wants or can.” “However, we did not send him any invitation because his situation does not allow his [freedom of] movement.”
In an interview with Kuwaiti daily al-Dar on Wednesday, Abu al-Gheit said he had not met with Nasrallah, but only with his assistants, although he had visited Lebanon three times.
Abu al-Gheit also told the paper that Egypt helped the Lebanese army because it was the army of a “brother Arab state,” and it needed support, as it was one of the main elements of stability in the country.
