NOW Deputy Editor-in-Chief Called For Questioning: Our Statement


Journalist Alia Mansour, our colleague and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of NOW Lebanon and a Lebanese-Syrian activist was taken by a State Security patrol earlier today, Saturday, October 19th, in a police raid unworthy of the state, based on a subpoena from the deputy Government Commissioner to the Military Court, Judge Claude Ghanem.
Despite the ongoing war and carnage, the mentality of suppressing freedom of expression remains deeply entrenched in society.
It is evident that it will take years before we can bring these criminals to justice, yet we will not falter. The Lebanese constitution must remain above all considerations, and more important than the hypocrisy of those trying to silence our voices of freedom.
