Since no one can predict how the battle in Gaza will end, another 1701 forces itself onto the scene

A ceasefire that ensures Gaza’s border with Egypt is subject to international monitoring seemed the only possible solution to stopping the bloodshed. Resolution 1701, passed to end the 2006 July War, has not yet been fully implemented, and it will be even more complicated in Gaza.
